anna, just so you know, your point is factual, not causal. yes, oil prices have increased since the war started. explain to me, however, how it caused an increase in prices. keep in mind iraq was like 16th in production prior to the invasion. iraqs oil production is near is pre-war levels.Do you think that oil prices are a threat on natioanal security ?
absolutely. the government already has recognized the problem that the housing market meltdown has caused and in that regards cannot let the runaway gas prices bring the economy to a stand still. they already aggressively go after


those that profiteer in other ways, so there is precedent to bring those that prey on the weaknesses in the way the market operates, to justice.


it will all come down to having the political will to do so, since it would appear that the market place cannot be trusted to do police it's self.

It ain't the governments fault that oil prices are so high %26amp; since the military has plenty of oil there's no real threat to national security except for a revolt by Americans. The problem is that Americans use way too much oil %26amp; now they have to pay for their addiction.
Yes, I do. To fix it we should develop alternative energy sources in the long term. In the short term we should build new clean coal burning plants, new oil refineries and new nuclear power plants and not stop stocking up the SPT. But because everybody hates Bush and he proposed it, even when he is right the Congress opposes him.
